A new platform tries to address issues with API security

API security is a significant barrier for IT organizations; conventional solutions are frequently fragmented, necessitating the use of many products and increasing complexity and expense.

An all-encompassing API security platform is being introduced by Israeli cybersecurity startup Wib in order to provide total visibility and control across the whole API ecosystem, from coding to production.

Wib’s CEO and co-founder, Gil Don, says:

The number one threat vector for cyberattacks and the cyber defenses’ Achilles’ heel are APIs. Over 50% of today’s internet traffic, which comprises 91 percent of all traffic, is invisible to enterprise IT and security teams. For CIOs, these unfamiliar, unmanaged, and unprotected APIs are exposing crucial business logic weaknesses and raising risk by creating enormous blind spots.

Additionally, outdated online security techniques like WAFs and API Gateways were not created to guard against current logic-based vulnerabilities. A new subcategory of API native security has been created by the Wib platform, which was specifically designed for an API-driven world.

Wib seeks to meet the demands of CIOs, cyberdefenders, and software developers by providing a single, comprehensive view of each group’s whole API domain. Wib can automate inventory and API change management, identify rogue, zombie, and shadow APIs, and analyze business risk and impact. By providing real-time inspection, management, and control at every stage of the API lifecycle, Wib can also help organizations to lessen and harden their API attack surface.
