According to US Central Command, a rocket attack on the US military’s Green Village outpost in northeast Syria failed to damage any American or coalition soldiers or equipment.
The base was the target of three 107 mm rockets on Sunday, and a fourth rocket and rocket tubes were discovered at the launch site, which was roughly 5 kilometers (3 miles) away, according to a statement from the military.
Last month, the US military and militants supported by Iran attacked the Green Village outpost, resulting in at least one US service member in Syria receiving a minor injury.
The event sparked a US retaliation that resulted in the deaths of two to three of the attackers who were terrorists.
According to the Central Command, the most recent unsuccessful strike, which occurred at around 7:05, is being looked into.It gave no further details.
US forces first deployed in Syria during the Obama administration’s campaign against ISIS, partnering with a Kurdish-led group called the Syrian Democratic Forces. There are about 900 US troops in Syria, most of them in the east.
