Stop thinking about cleaning your kitchen with the Pine-Sol all-purpose cleaner in the bottle under the sink. It might include microorganisms that, in the hands of someone with weakened immune systems, could result in serious sickness.
The perfumed all-purpose cleansers and multi-surface cleaners have been recalled, according to The Clorox Company. The company’s lone disinfectant-registered product, the renowned original pine-scented Pine-Sol, is not a part of the recall.
The Clorox Professional Pine-Sol Lemon Fresh Cleaners and perfumed CloroxPro Pine-Sol All Purpose Cleaners are among the items the Oakland, California-based business has recalled, according to a statement from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to the commission, the items “may include germs, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental bacterium widely found in soil and water.”
“The bacteria can enter the body by inhalation, contact with the eyes, or a skin breach. Usually, the bacteria do not harm people with good immune systems “declared the commission.
According to the commission, testing revealed germs in the recalled products made between January 2021 and September 2022. It advised customers to snap photos of the 12-digit UPC number and the date code, discard the product in its container, and get in touch with the business for a refund.
