Former WWE NXT UK Superstar Dave Mastiff claims that the roster wasn’t given much time to comprehend the brand’s impending demise before the news broke.
WWE said in August that NXT UK will take a “short break” before the introduction of NXT Europe.
WWE quickly released the bulk of NXT UK talent, including Mastiff.
Mastiff told PW Mania that the announcement of the releases was swiftly followed by a press statement, and the roster cutbacks occurred soon after.
“We had a meeting, and we were informed it was over. We were assured that the Europe thing was in the works.
“Seconds later, they issued a press release.” Then we all received calls saying we were being released.”
