Ducati’s MotoGP bike advantage is “ridiculous,” according to Pol Espargaro.

Following the Australian Grand Prix, Aleix Espargaro says the results Ducati is able to achieve in MotoGP are “ridiculous” and “frustrating” to deal with.

The Aprilia rider finished ninth at Phillip Island on Sunday due to an apparent electronics issue, leaving him 27 points behind new leader Francesco Bagnaia with two races remaining.

Espargaro has been in the title race since his maiden MotoGP victory in Argentina, but he claims that the vastly improved RS-GP “has never been” anywhere near the level of the Ducati.

Six of the eight Ducatis finished in the top ten at Phillip Island, which Espargaro admits is “frustrating” because the bike is good enough for “everyone who rides it” to be strong.
“It’s funny because not long ago, three or four months ago, everyone was saying the same thing.”

While Espargaro still has a mathematical chance of winning the championship, he admits that Aprilia “proved we are not together as a team” and “not at the level to fight for the title” during the flyaway run of races.
