The SEAGUARD 96, a new multipurpose corvette design by CMN NAVAL, is capable of carrying out a wide range of missions, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), monitoring and surveillance of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), deterrent strike operations, support for land forces operations, and the ability to land an 11t class helicopter.
The corvette is outfitted with cutting-edge technology, Combat Management Systems, a 3D radar, and a full complement of armament systems and sensors for anti-air, anti-surface, anti-asymmetric, and anti-submarine warfare (ASW).
The new, slender bow section has been added to the group’s tested hull lines to improve seakeeping and efficiency. Modern stealthy and modular topsides and superstructures with an integrated main mast and flush side hull compartments distinguish the vessel. An 11-ton class helicopter can be operated from the stern’s sufficient helicopter platform and hangar.
The 96-meter-long SEAGUARD 96 corvette has a 13.5-meter beam, a displacement of about 2000 tons, and space for 60 people.
A maximum speed of 28 knots and an endurance of more than 4000 miles are provided by the propulsion and power generation system, which is perfectly suited to the ship and its missions. It is composed of twin main diesel engines, CPP propellers, and four diesel generators.
