The Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Friday that an Israeli operation in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin resulted in the death of a Palestinian adolescent.
According to a statement from the ministry, 19-year-old Salah al-Buraiki was shot in the neck and later died. Three additional Palestinians were reportedly injured.
According to Palestinian accounts, Israeli forces entered multiple buildings and stationed snipers on their rooftops, sparking clashes with occupants.
According to the Israeli army, during the operation, “Security personnel retaliated with live fire after suspects threw explosive devices and fired firearms. Hits were discovered.”
In the West Bank on Thursday, businesses, offices, and schools were shuttered as Palestinians went on strike in opposition to Israel’s execution of a man believed to have killed an Israeli soldier earlier in the month.
