Jaxon Smith-Njigba from Ohio State is ‘100%’ healthy at the NFL combine

March 3, 2019 (UPI) The Ohio State star revealed Friday in Indianapolis that wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is completely healthy and would take part in nearly all of the drills at the 2023 NFL scouting combine.

The left hamstring of Smith-Njigba was hurt on September 3 during the Buckeyes’ victory over Notre Dame in the season opener. He participated in two more games in spurts before being benched.

At a press conference held at the Indianapolis Convention Center, Smith-Njigba declared, “I would say I was 100% as of two weeks ago. “I’m simply moving cautiously so I can put an end to this bothersome injury, which I believe I have.

In 2021–22, the 200–pound, 6-foot-1 pass catcher hauled in 95 passes for 1,606 yards and nine touchdowns, including a 15–catch, 347–yard, three–touchdown day against Utah.

Last season, he could only manage five catches for 43 yards.

Smith-Njigba reported that this week he attended 20 official meetings with NFL teams.Smith-Njigba declared, “My playmaking ability is second to none in this draft. Not only a receiver, “I consider myself as a Top 5 player.”

Most mock drafts have Smith-Njigba predicted as a first-round selection. Other notable wide receiver prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft class include TCU’s Quentin Johnston, Tennessee’s Jalin Hyatt, Boston College’s Zay Flowers, USC’s Jordan Addison, and North Carolina’s Josh Downs.

Last season, Hyatt recorded 67 catches for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns. Flowers had 78 catches for 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns overall. Johnston recorded six touchdowns and 1,069 yards on 60 grabs. With 94 catches, Downs amassed 1,029 yards and 11 touchdowns. 59 passes were caught by Addison for 875 yards and eight touchdowns.
