In the most recent NFL rumors, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ post-Tom Brady environment is depressing, and Aaron Rodgers’ world in his native California is rife with pranks.
The second weekend in March saw a flurry of NFL speculations as the legal tampering period opened in less than 24 hours.
All eyes are on the time since pending free agents can communicate and potentially sign with other teams after Monday, March 13 at 12:00 p.m. EST, of course unofficially. Before the start of the new league year, some players who were already free agents joined another team. One need just consider Derek Carr’s switch from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New Orleans Saints.
All four clubs are playoff-caliber, with the Bengals and Bills in the upper echelon of the AFC with the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. New York already has Breece Hall, but he is coming off a major injury. Cincinnati could move off Joe Mixon, so the Bengals’ interest in Williams makes sense as well. As for Buffalo, the Bills must do something to get better at running.
Even though they have used precious draft capital previously on the likes of James Cook, Zack Moss and Devin Singletary, Buffalo tends to use quarterback Josh Allen on every single play, pass or run. The Bills even traded for Nyheim Hines last season, but even he could not help bring balance to their rushing attack. By signing Williams in free agency, the Bills could add a bell-cow.
One way or another, Williams is about to be getting paid, so the Lions better be ready to pay him.
