Under the According to European merchants, the Taiwan Flour Millers’ Association purchased an estimated 48,975 tonnes of milling wheat from the United States in a tender on Wednesday.
Several types of wheat were purchased for shipments from the Pacific Northwest coast of the United States between April 19 and May 3.
32,550 tonnes of U.S. dark northern spring wheat with a minimum 14.5% protein content were purchased, according to merchants, for an estimated $367.76 per tonne FOB the Pacific Northwest coast of the United States.
Also, it comprised 6,925 tonnes of soft white wheat between a minimum 8.5% and 10% protein content that was purchased at $306.26 per tonne FOB and 9,500 tonnes of hard red winter wheat with a minimum 12.5% protein content.
The price includes an extra freight fee of $38.73 per tonne for ocean shipment from the Pacific Northwest coast of the United States to Taiwan, according to them.
It was reported that trading firm Bunge was the seller of all the grain.
The association’s bids regularly give a reliable picture of US export prices in Asian markets.
