The statistics on the gun violence issue in America

Although though mass shootings only make up a small portion of gun-related fatalities nationwide, many incidents this month demonstrated the severity of gun violence in America.

In Uvalde, Texas, a school shooting claimed the lives of 21, the most of them children.

Four people were killed just a few days later in a shooting at an Oklahoma hospital in Tulsa.

The Gun Violence Archive’s data provides insight into the tragic effects of gun violence in America. The number of fatal shootings has increased recently. According to the Gun Violence Archive, there were 20,923 gun-related fatalities in the United States last year, excluding suicides, a significant rise from the 19,515 fatalities in 2020.

According to data compiled by the Gun Violence Archive, over 21,000 persons died by gun suicide year between 2014 and 2019. Suicides make up a significant fraction of gun-related deaths.
