The deadline to apply for the financial assistance is quickly approaching, but millions of taxpayers are still eligible for COVID-19 relief stimulus payments.
A stimulus payment or the child tax credit might make between 8 million and 9 million people eligible for additional COVID-19 relief. According to the Government Accountability Office, those with low or no income have until November 15 to submit a simplified tax return to determine whether they are eligible for this further help.

The payments are a part of the federal government’s efforts to lessen the financial burden on the nation during the coronavirus outbreak. Congress approved $931 billion in funding to be paid in three waves for around 165 million individuals as direct COVID-19 stimulus payments between April 2020 and December 2021.
Other taxpayers who earlier this year missed the April 15 filing deadline had until mid-October to file their taxes; however, the deadline passed on October 17.

The child tax credit, which attempts to lessen financial hardship and food poverty, is also available to families with kids. Between July and December 2021, these credits benefited almost 84% of kids nationally.
